Mountain View, California – January 31, 2024 – Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) announced today the promotion of Ursula Williams to president and the move of Barry Asin into the role of chief analyst. This restructuring offers greater alignment of responsibilities as well as enhanced positioning for SIA’s future plans.

Williams joined SIA in 2015 and has served as chief operating officer since 2019. She played a pivotal role in navigating the company through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, her leadership has proven instrumental in not only executing the company’s growth strategy and expansion, but also in delivering outstanding results for clients, employees and the overall business. In her new role as president, she will take on the responsibility for day-to-day SIA operations and will focus on further accelerating the research firm’s growth strategy.

“Stepping into the role of SIA president is truly an honor. I look forward to taking on this new responsibility and I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our organization and the clients we serve,” Williams said. “We have a strong team and remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering on our mission to inform, connect and elevate the entire staffing and workforce solutions ecosystem as the leading research and advisory firm in the space. As president of SIA, I look forward to collaborating with Barry, as our new chief analyst, and the entire SIA team propelling us to new heights.”

Asin joined SIA in 2003 and has served as president since 2010. As chief analyst, Asin will focus on developing SIA’s thought leadership, conference content, long-term strategy and product development.

“Ursula is an experienced, growth-oriented executive and I am excited to have her leading this new phase in the development of SIA’s business and organization,” Asin said. “As the next step in SIA’s ongoing transition and strategic plan, we look to further expanding SIA’s reach across staffing, the workforce solutions ecosystem and the world of contingent work. We believe this realignment of responsibilities will help SIA capture the opportunities ahead and maximize our ability to serve our clients.”

Crain Communications, a leading business news and information company with 24 media brands, acquired SIA in 2008 and has supported its robust growth efforts across membership, research capabilities, and staff. Particular focus has been placed on technology’s impact on the staffing industry and surrounding workforce solutions ecosystem. SIA has also added to its enterprise buyer-oriented Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) Council team, providing a full slate of SIA research, peer support and advisory services to human resources and procurement executives in Fortune 2000 companies.

“Barry and Ursula have done an incredible job leading SIA,” said KC ޾ֲ, president and CEO of Crain Communications. “As we plan for growth at this brand, this leadership transition creates additional prospects to remain on the leading-edge.”

Capitalizing on those new opportunities is already in motion. The company is featuring a pop-up event just ahead of its Executive Forum North America this March called the Staffing Tech Summit. Additionally, SIA is further sharing its research through a variety of thought leadership and speaking engagements.
